Alan McGillivray

Alan is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and CPA Australia. He is the Principal of “Business Valuation Specialists” having over 40 years experience in business valuations, strategic business advisory, forensic accounting and compliance.

Alan's focus is providing specialist advice on:

Alan's career commenced with a role within PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the worlds largest professional accounting firm, where the basis of his professional development began. He has also held strategic commercial roles in both large Public and Private companies, including managing Business Planning for an enterprise with 20,000 employees. Importantly Alan also has also been in a crucial commercial role in a business that specialised in taking on failed businesses, that were in administration and turning them around in order for the bank to sell them on as viable enterprises.

For the last 25 years Alan has been the Principal of a very successful Professional Practice working with a range of clients both large and small across many industries.

He has sat on the boards of many of these companies providing ongoing expertise helping them to achieve planned objectives whether it was growth, succession planning, or the end goal of a successful sale of that business.

Alan is also recognised by Australian Law Courts as an expert in Business Valuations and is frequently the author of “Single Expert Witness Reports”, as well as having served on numerous National Tax Committees and National and State Committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
